Welcome to Sharon Wade Art!

Who Am I?
I believe art is a powerful tool that speaks to the heart. My journey as an artist has been focused on exploring how to blend various elements into my work, which includes watercolor, soft pastel, and mixed media, finally settling on a love of soft pastel as my main medium of choice. As a follower of Jesus, my favorite quote comes from Refractions by Makoto Fujimura: “Create we must and respond to this dark hour.”

After 22 years in Asia, my husband and I have returned to Michigan, where I am now a full-time artist, using art to support ministry. My role is to help projects, missionaries, and ministries tell their stories through art. Currently, I serve as the Artist in Residence for CORD Ministries.

Before coming back to Michigan, I spent 12 years as the Art Department Head at Grace International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I taught pottery, drawing, painting, and AP Studio Art. Prior to living in Thailand, my family and I lived in India, which gave me a deep connection to Asia alongside my Michigan roots.

How Does My Art Support Ministry?
A key goal in selling my artwork is to support The Family Connection Foundation (FCF) in Thailand, which helps families and children at risk. One of FCF’s projects, Education Matters, provides financial support to children who would otherwise be unable to attend school due to poverty or family issues. It’s my dream to donate most of my profits to Education Matters.
