Welcome to this exciting class as you explore a combination of both soft and hard pastels as Sharon guides you every step of the way. Each week you will create a mini pastel painting while building your knowledge of Pastel Painting Techniques. You will learn about pastels and pastel papers. Play with strokes and glazing using color to create stories. Additionally, you will acquire skills in layering and blending to create volume and how colors are used for the different seasons. You will also learn how to use under painting to create a foundation of color and texture for your landscape paintings.

Mini Landscapes in Pastel for Beginners and Continuers

Each week you will create a mini pastel painting while building your knowledge of Pastel Painting Techniques. You will learn about pastels and pastel papers. Pastel artist, Sharon Wade, will introduce you to the unique qualities and techniques of creative work in pastel. In this beginner-level course, you will learn about pastels, pastel papers, mark making, composition, and color theory. Pastels, known for their intensity and purity of pigment, can be used to create luminous, color-rich images that have delighted artists and art appreciators for centuries.
Each week we will build up our knowledge of pastel techniques and create a new mini landscape painting. New resources pictures for each series, so if you’ve been before, you will learn something new!
